Rainfall

Heavy showers have characterized June 2011
Oh my, we have seen a lot of rainfall so far in the first week of June 2011 with totals in the region of 20 to 40mm nationwide in Ireland as of June 10th 2011. The Southeast has fared best and the West worst.

These conditons look set to continue for the rest of June now unfortunately as Low after Low comes across Ireland in a mobile Westerly stream

The only good thing is that it wont be as cold as the 9th June when temperatures have gone down into low single figures and the night time minima were even close to 0c. A very low June total indeed. But still a long way off the record Low for the month which is below minus 3c in 1962.

So you could say we are enjoying a heatwave now compared t 1962.

RAINFALL FOR SUMMER 2011 CURRENTLY 74MM
