Summer of 2011 in Ireland will not go down as a steaming hot one, certainly if current trends continue.
Its been nearly 2 degrees below normal for most of the time and the overall average has only been punctuated a couple of times by some warm days of which there has been 5 in June.
July will probably see a similar amount with very little prolonged spells of heat at all.
August is the month of the Summer when nights get longer and cooler but will they get any cooler than at present. It is hard to imagine so.

Summer 2011 Outlook Cool and Unsettled/Warm at Times
This Summer is looking to be cool and unsettled as Atlantic Weatherbands continue to cross Ireland bringing very changeable conditions. From time to time High Pressure will build from the South before being pushed out of the way once more by cooler weather. It looks like overall the temperatures will be around average but rainfall will be above normal with sunshine slightly lower than we would expect.
